Endless possibilities of wood
VANOUDS was founded by Tom van Noesel. As the son of a wood trader from Brabant, he was captivated by the endless possibilities of wood from a young age. In 2012, he decided to start producing custom-made wooden tables. His first project, a line of six walnut epoxy resin slab tables, stemmed from his passion for surfing.
Freezing a table in epoxy resin
Surfers apply a layer of epoxy resin to protect their surfboards from the sun and saltwater. This transparent, hard synthetic resin creates an impenetrable, airtight protective layer. Tom wondered what would happen if he “froze” a table in epoxy resin. It turned out to be a resounding success and formed the basis of what VANOUDS is today. Tom and his team of craftsmen developed and perfected the process of pouring, drying, and finishing the epoxy resin to achieve a perfectly smooth surface without air bubbles. Over the years, VANOUDS tables have found their way into homes, restaurants, clubs, and offices worldwide.
Product development
In the past ten years, our products have undergone tremendous development. Our production process has been finely optimized, and we exclusively work with the finest materials. As a result, our tables are found in stunning locations both domestically and internationally. While we remain true to our concept of wood-steel-epoxy in terms of materials, each project requires a unique approach, and every customer has specific desires. To meet these needs, we have expanded our range to include a collection of tables with a matte and raw finish.
